Use multiple sitemaps

Post by ahbappy250 »

There are 7 possible changefreq tags to use:

Never: The page content is static and does not change. Used for news articles, reports, and similar content.
Annually: Use if you have annual events, sales, or reports.
Monthly: This might be the ideal tag for FAQs, monthly reports, or blogs that are updated on a monthly basis.
Weekly: You might use this tag for db center whatsapp number product pages, weekly updated blogs, or “weekly” news update briefings.
Daily: This tag is perfect for newspaper pages, message boards, and blog posts.
Hourly: Major news websites use this tag for weather updates, for example.
Always: This tag applies to stock market pages, Twitter feeds, and similar content that is constantly updated.
Avoid unindexed pages
When you submit a sitemap to Google, you are asking for your site to be crawled and indexed. If a page is labeled “noindex,” do not add it to your sitemap file.

Avoid duplicates
Sometimes they are kept for archival purposes. For example, to have access to a previous version of an updated document.

Google penalizes duplicate content , so try to label duplicate pages as “noindex.”If you have a large website, your sitemap may be too large to upload. Sitemap files should be no larger than 50 MB , or contain no more than 50,000 URLs .

In this case, it may be useful to have more than one sitemap. Even if you haven't reached the limit yet, it is advisable to split the file into more than one XML sitemap, in order to speed up the crawling process.

Very large e-commerce websites can benefit from developing separate sitemaps for different categories and product pages.

Key points
Sitemaps allow search engines to analyze your site and users to navigate it. In both cases, they are useful files.

You can edit them as needed. When you do, re-upload your sitemap so Google can crawl the most up-to-date version of your content.

Site audits help identify errors that may impact your site's ability to be crawled by search engines. Perform site audits regularly to check for errors, and fix them before submitting your sitemap to search engines.
