Why are many large corporations abroad successful beyond expectations?

Toyota
Toyota - the leading brand applying the Kaizen business philosophy. So much so that people even think Toyota is the "father" of this Kaizen method. To achieve such success was not easy, before that, Toyota had to face many events and difficulties, including the financial crisis in 2008 and the serious impact of the terrible earthquakes in Japan plus the historic tsunami in Thailand. However, in the most difficult times and even facing the risk of bankruptcy, Toyota decided to maintain the policy of "saying no to layoffs".

When Toyota started designing and building its strategic car in Asia, the Tercel (also known as Soluna in Thailand), Mr. Takeshi Yoshida, the chief engineer, proposed an interesting method: To retail industry email list produce the Soluna intended for sale in Thailand, the requirement for the engineers was to design a car with a lower price than the Corolla. He asked the engineers: "Is it possible to remove any part from the Corolla?" and all answered that it was impossible.

Not long after, Mr. Yoshida deliberately created a very poor quality and cheap car for everyone to see. When they “admired” this “terrible” car, a series of opinions were put forward. From Mr. Yoshida’s initial bad idea, many good ideas were created from everyone and the result was the Soluna model.

Toyota's Kaizen philosophy is about harnessing human intelligence. The role of leadership is to create an environment that harnesses and retains that intelligence. Through the accumulation of small improvements, long-term success is created.
