If your technicians are paid hourly, geofencing can help you track their hours of work.

Vin Partington, vice president of marketing at NexTraq, explains how some NexTraq customers are creating “virtual scoreboards” by creating geofences and geofence alerts around work stations. When a technician passes through a geofence, the fleet management software records the time. This provides an accurate record of how long your employees have worked in a particular position. When it’s time to run payroll, logging hours saves them time, freeing them up to do other work.

4. Geofencing can provide you with the information you need
By combining the data generated by geofencing with other information, managers and drivers can ensure they are paying attention to the right KPIs.

Telogis' Jeff Fiore notes that geofencing, when combined with "automated instagram database workflows," can help managers discover available workers : "When a geofence condition is met, an event can be triggered that starts an automated decision-making process that could, for example, search for nearby employees to assign work to idle/underutilized workers."

Thus, geofencing can help you increase the utilization rate of your technicians.

Geofencing can also give managers information about whether their employees are moonlighting. If you know the areas an employee will be in, you can set up geofences around those areas and trigger alerts if the employee wanders off to another location.
