As the commercial deployment of 5G-A accelerates

China Unicom said it will promote close cooperation between industry, academia and research institutions to jointly innovate on 6G unified network architecture and technology.

“ In the past, Chinese companies have cooperated with international organizations to create standards for 3G, 4G and 5G technologies ,” said Xiang Ligang, director general of the Information Consumption Alliance, a telecommunications industry association. “ They should strengthen partnerships and cooperation with overseas counterparts to help form unified global 6G standards.”

AI is opening up new opportunities for the telecom industry. According to Wang, “ 2024 marks the confluence of the year of commercial deployment of 5G-A and the year of AI in devices, heralding the era of mobile AI where intelligent services become ubiquitous . ”
