Remember to keep your personal data safe and confidential

Post by subornaakter40 »

A website visitor should be confident that their personal information will be kept safe. Provide your lead capture tool with permission to process and store personal data to avoid legal issues, and put a link to a privacy policy page somewhere nearby. In general, you need to reassure the visitor that their information will not “leak” anywhere, and you will not spam them.

The form should be attractive, not intimidating (which, unfortunately, also happens)! Here are some rules for creating a lead capture form:

Uniform design of subheadings, form list of real mobile phone numbers database placeholders: one color, font size, font family. And, of course, no mixing of uppercase and lowercase letters in headings of the same level!

A person must understand which field he is currently entering data into. The active field must be highlighted, and there must be a cursor in it instead of a placeholder.

Mandatory fields must be marked in a special way - with an asterisk and an explanation of the mandatory nature. But if all fields need to be filled in, there is no need to mark each one.

The fields should be of an optimal size: for a detailed answer - a large text field. It is advisable not to set the sizes rigidly, leaving the possibility of scrolling or stretching.

For a lead capture tool to be effective, it must be user-friendly. Clearly instruct the user how to enter data into the form, or leave the user the option to choose the format themselves.

An error message – incorrect filling of a field – should be displayed immediately (with an explanation of where exactly the error was made), and next to the field, and not after the form.

The entered data must be saved automatically. If a person accidentally sends an incomplete form or moves the cursor, their data should not disappear. To do this, you need to program the lead capture form correctly.

Already known information should be entered into the form automatically to provide maximum convenience to the client. Data of already registered users should be pulled into the form so that they do not have to fill in these fields again: let the program do it. If necessary, the person will correct the information in the fields. This will reduce the time it takes to fill out the form.

An abundance of fields does not contribute to good conversion, which is proven by practice. Remove all unnecessary points so that people do not abandon the form halfway. Everything that can be done without should be removed from the application.

A message about successful sending should be mandatory, and preferably in a separate modal window. The client should clearly understand what the next steps are in his interaction with the company.

Creating a proper and effective lead capture tool is only possible through trial and error. Experiment with your forms: change the wording, button design, set of fields; regularly measure the effectiveness of this tool.
