Finding the best time to post on Facebook can greatly help your business stand out and reach more of your target audience, even as Facebook's organic reach continues to decline.

But knowing the best times to post can be a challenge, and we'd like to help.

In this guide, we'll share exactly how you can find the best time to usa email list post content on your Facebook Page for maximum reach, exposure, and engagement.

Is there a best time to post on Facebook?
There is probably no best time to post on Facebook.

Many studies have tried to figure out the best time to post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and almost every other social media marketing channel.

Each study finds a wide range of results.

According to a study by Buffer , the best time to post on Facebook is between 1pm and 3pm on weekdays and Saturdays.

It was also found that engagement rates are 18% higher on Thursdays and Fridays.

However, other studies have found that the best time to post on Facebook is:

Thursdays and Fridays from 1pm to 3pm are the best times to post on Facebook; [ Hubspot ]
Thursday at 8:00pm; [ TrackMaven ]
1-4pm through weekdays and weekends; [ CoSchedule ]
All of these studies can be helpful in pointing marketers in the right direction.

However, almost all studies reveal a 'best time to post' and, in reality, the best time to post depends on several factors specific to each company:

What is your industry?
Where is your target audience based?
When are they online?
Are you sponsoring your post?
We’d like to change the conversation and say that instead of looking for a ‘best time to post’, perhaps we should focus specifically on when is the best time for your brand to post.

Each business has a different audience and identity. Working on your visual identity to reach your target audience is essential to being recognized.

Try using your logo in your posts so that you can be easily identified among the posts that appear in users' feeds. Don't have a logo yet? Use a logo maker , this tool can help.

Why There’s No Universal Best Time to Post on Facebook
There is more content shared on Facebook than any of us could ever consume, and as such, Facebook's News Feed algorithm helps determine what is shown to us each time we open Facebook.

On his business blog, Brian Boland , Facebook's vice president of advertising technology , explains:

“On average, there are 1,500 stories that could appear in a person’s News Feed each time they log into Facebook. For people with a lot of friends and Page Likes, up to 15,000 potential stories could appear at any given time.”

As a result, competition in News Feed – the place on Facebook where people see content from family and friends, as well as businesses – is increasing, and it’s becoming harder for any given story to gain exposure in News Feed.”

Every time you post on Facebook, you're essentially competing with at least 1,500 other posts that have been made, and timing is just one of several factors that determine what content will be displayed.

With that in mind, it's also possible that the best time to post is also the worst.

Let’s say a study found the best time to post was 6pm on a Friday and every brand tried to get content out to their audience at that time; chances are few of those posts would get seen due to such high competition.

The same goes for saying that it’s better to post during off-peak hours – if all brands post during off-peak hours, there will be more competition and therefore they will have to go back to posting during peak hours.

It’s all very confusing and there’s no clear answer. As such, I would argue that there’s no specific best time to post on Facebook.

If there is no best time to post, how do you decide when to share your content on Facebook?

To answer this question, I believe there are two approaches we could use:

When your internal data tells you;
And when it is relevant.
Focus on sharing great content (besides the best times)
When one of your Facebook friends gets married, you'll likely see their wedding photos plastered at the top of your News Feed all day, regardless of what time they were posted.

This is because wedding photos , whether you like them or not, are great content and as soon as they are published, many people rush to like, share and comment on them.

If you want to be successful on Facebook, your content is just as important as your timing.
