What is WHOIS?
WHOIS is an open database. It stores information about domain names and their owners. The database is regulated by the ICANN corporation. In this database, you can get the data you are interested in about any domain name. You can get this information through special services. Now let's move on to what information is in WHOIS, and in what cases you should check the IP address and domain.

What information does WHOIS contain?
During domain registration, the user specifies personal data. If they turn out to be false, it is problematic to confirm your right to it. Moreover, such a domain can be cancelled based on a court decision.

Administration contacts.
Information about the owner.
Sometimes the owner's contact information can be hidden using privacy settings. The owner can set them himself. Privacy settings also depend on the domain zone.
