The Government will approve the law on 'startups' and 'large state programmes' to improve citizens' digital skills next autumn, according to information provided on Wednesday by the First Vice President of the Government, Nadia Calviño.
At the opening of the annual 'Summit', organised by loan data the telecoms employers' association DigitalES, Calviño stated that with the push for the 'startups law' in the autumn, the most important laws announced by the Executive for this legislature in terms of digitalisation will already be approved, together with those on 5G cybersecurity, telecommunications and audiovisual.
Regarding the improvement of the population's digital skills, he explained that the Government considers this aspect to be key in its roadmap for the digitalisation of this country, and announced that "major programmes" at a national level will be launched in the autumn.
Regarding the SME digitalisation programme, Kit Digital, she pointed out that 18,000 companies have already received their bonus and nearly 60,000 have requested this Government benefit to improve their equipment and computer programmes. "This is 50% of the target population to which it was directed (SMEs with 10 to 49 employees), which already demonstrates the success of the programme," said the Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation .
