Why Data Driven Decisions Are Key
Marketing is an interconnected field that sits at the meeting point of nearly every aspect of business. It can feel overwhelming to decide which path to take next or which strategy to use – after all, digital marketing trends are constantly changing, and it can seem like there’s a new approach emerging every day.
You don’t have to keep up with every trend. Instead, focus on what works for your business. The best and only way to know for sure that your marketing strategy is gaining traction is to look at the data, identify trends, and apply the findings to further success.
A Guardian survey of 162 US senior executives found that “a full 64% of survey respondents ‘strongly agree’ that data-driven marketing is critical to success in a hyper-competitive global economy.” Another 89% of brands said they plan to invest in predictive analytics at some point in the future to enhance their marketing efforts.
Data-driven marketing is undoubtedly the future of marketing, and in many ways, it is also the present. You have probably been using data-driven methods all along. After all, as marketers, we are associated with the concept of tracking open rates and click-through rates on emails. This concept of data-driven marketing is simply an extension of these practices.
So how do you get into the realm of using data to inform your marketing strategies and use the information you have to get the best results? Let’s start by looking at the data in Hello Bar and how you can apply the data you collect in the app to your overall marketing strategy.

Understanding Your Popup's Conversion Rate
Looking at your popup’s conversion rate is a great place to start when it comes to using data to make decisions. After all, you can gauge the success of your popup by looking at this number.
Conversion rates can vary depending on the industry, but when it comes to pop-ups, a conversion rate of 2 to 3 percent is considered very good.
