Today I had planned to write a post about things you shouldn't listen to your mother about when starting an online business.
Because, let's see, if I analyze my mother's relationship with technology we have:

B] My mother & the computer
For my mother, the fault of everything, absolutely everything that happens within a 10-meter radius around her work table, is the computer.
Her most typical phrase is " what did the computer do now? " As if it had a life of its own and decided to move things around, jam the printer or get creative with formatting in Excel.
And don't think my mother is an old lady or anything like that. She's a pretty young woman considering I myself am not going to turn 40 anymore ?
Mommy, I know you're reading this, stop using the computer as an excuse. It's not exactly a technology that's just two days old... and learn how to use it once and for all!
So I was very clever about writing a super post about everything that mothers don't know about internet projects , when, look, I got exactly the opposite. Because when I started to realize that I had more reasons in favor than against, I had no choice but to change the direction of the article and tell my mother:
"Mom, you have no idea about technology, but you've taught me so much about online business!"
And if you don't think your mother can give you a few lessons about your project, take note of this list and then thank her and give her a big kiss.

Lesson 1 - Order
If there is something that moms are experts at, it is Order . In capital letters.
How many times has your mom told you to tidy your room, your closet, your drawers...?

Lesson 2 - Punctuality
Another of the great workhorses of mothers in this world: don't be late to places.

Managing a project alone is a constant race against time . Delivering a job on time, punctually responding to a request, a quote, a query, not missing a loan or tax payment deadline...
Make good friends with calendars, lists, notifications and alarms because, if you manage them well, they will get you out of a tight spot a thousand times over .
Lesson 3 - Continuing education
I've never been a vandal per se, but I remember one year when I couldn't wait for the course to end so I could burn the Latin book. I hated it. And I literally did. I burned the book when I finished that course.
I was generally a bad student, I was distracted by a fly that flew by and I studied the day before the exam (now that's called "procrastinating").
My main goal was to grow up and stop listening to my mother: "Stop wasting time and start studying already!"
And now what?
Well, now, if you work online and have your own business, you will know that continuous training is our daily bread . And don't even think that because you are an adult you can stop studying.
Social media, tools, security, protocols, and even our online tastes change almost every day. And if you don't learn, study, and understand that training is something you'll do until the day you retire, you'll be left behind as a professional.
Mom will be very satisfied knowing that we devoured webinars, trainings, ebooks and I don't know how many other things to continue training ourselves.
Lesson 4 - Take care of yourself
Because those phrases from mom "daughter, eat well" or "how many hours have you been reading in the dark that you're going to go blind?!" make more sense now than ever.
Having your own business is great in many ways, but it sucks when it comes to taking care of ourselves .
Listen to mom on this one. Take care of yourself, eat well, move around and don't spend a thousand hours in front of the computer.
I at least aspire to reach my mother's age and look as fantastic as she does. Fingers crossed!
