On April 16, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake occurred with its epicenter at the border between the Ecuadorian provinces of Esmeraldas and Manabí. The entire province of Manabí is in serious trouble, with hundreds of dead and thousands of homeless people in need of everyone's support.

What is being done so far?
More than 1,200 Red Cross volunteers.
Armed forces.
Firefighters from all over the country.
Venezuela sent humanitarian aid and rescue workers.
Colombia has sent rescuers and law enforcement personnel to help.
120 Mexican rescuers arrived to support the rescue efforts.
The Colombian Fire Department sent 15 units.
Everyone is focused on the cities and provinces that need the most support.

The Ministry of Public Health has issued a call for these 3 specialists: Doctors specializing in traumatology, surgery, emergencies and intensive care, Nursing and auxiliary staff, Psychologists and psychiatric doctors. Volunteers in Quito: In Quito, a call was made for volunteers to support the reception of donations and other activities through the San José Trust at the following telephone numbers: 2283-915 extension 141, 112, 154 and 150.
