Copywriter vs. studio: pros and cons for the customer

When you need a text in a foreign language - no matter for a blog, landing page or external publications - the question arises of who to delegate it to. Should you give the task to an ordinary freelancer or contact a foreign language copywriting studio?

All clients have their own preferences, but we tried to collect objective pros and cons of cooperation with individual copywriters and agencies (based on communication with clients and our own experience).

What to expect from a copywriter?
Copywriters can be found on exchanges or in specialized communities on social networks. There are universal authors, and there are those who specialize in certain topics - medicine, cryptocurrency, trading. And there are also copywriters with expertise - in IT, for example. Authors are different, but the features of cooperation with them are approximately the same.

So, what are the main advantages that clients find when working directly with freelancers:

It's cheaper. Most often, yes. You pay the person right away and pay for only one service - writing. Without editing, proofreading, expertise. But it's worth understanding that a good native copywriter is expensive, on average $60-85 per 1000 words, and $85 is not the limit.
Quick start. It is difficult to find a good writer. Yes, there are reliable exchanges with thousands of copywriters. For example, there are about 55 thousand writers registered on Upwork. But it is really difficult to find a good copywriter who would: a) understand your topic, b) not miss deadlines, c) be pleasant to talk to, d) write WELL in English. There are few professionals, they know their worth and are expensive. That is, the main advantage of working with copywriters - low price - is reduced to nothing.
Without an editor, the quality is unstable. Even talented authors need an editor and a proofreader. If you are collaborating with a copywriter who is not a native speaker of a foreign language, then a native proofreader is a must. Remember that the author-editor combination will increase your text budget.
There is always a risk that the author will drop out. Working with one person is the most undiversified risk. They may simply stop communicating at the most crucial moment and leave you without a finished text.
A lot of personal effort. You need to spend your time finding the author and communicating with him (and, most likely, you will have to communicate in English).
Clients also note the following inconveniences: freelancers very often do not comply with the technical requirements - they simply ignore some points. This increases the number of iterations and edits and the time it takes to create one text.
