How do people approach link building these days?

You see, losing relevance doesn't mean completely eliminating the importance of this strategy. This means that maybe you really need to reconsider the resources you invest in that basket. John Mueller himself said Google should still be worried about this because it's one of the ways it crawls the internet. We’re not just talking about their crawlers, you and I as users also like these links as long as they are well-made links.


Beyond that, back in 2016 (four years after Penguin), another israel mobile database tech giant was causing a stir in the market. Andrey Lipattsev says that having good content and links are major ranking factors. A few years ago, in 2019, a study by Stone Temple Consulting showed a strong relationship between ranking #1 and their backlink strategy. This is obvious! How could you not value a good recommendation? I'd be super excited if BuzzFeed or Business Insider linked to my content in their posts.


So, that's certainly a factor that puts me at the top of the list.
