The law stipulates that advertising must be fair and truthful. If advertising does not meet these criteria, it is illegal and those who distribute it may be held liable.

Anastasia Podgrudkova, a civil law lawyer, member of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry and managing partner of BNP Consulting, spoke about which phrases and wording in advertising materials should be avoided in order not to violate the law.

"All teachers at our language school have state diplomas!.."
What's wrong? Advertising that contains information that does not correspond to reality can be considered false.

What's wrong? A billboard advertisement would be false advertising in either of two cases: if customers notice products at a different price in the store, or if the expiration date for the products at the stated price is not met.
