As part of our 16th anniversary, we want to share the story of how Bsale came about. In Chile, almost 60% of startups fail , mainly due to a lack of financing, a lack of clients, not having a good product or not really understanding what the client needs. This applies to all types of activities, from the most basic to the most technological. As an example, Spain Startup reports that nine out of ten startups do not survive to three years.
But this was no impediment for our co-founders Elvira and Gustavo Montero, two brothers who created the sales software preferred by entrepreneurs, called Bsale. Its beginnings began in Chilean Patagonia and today we are present throughout Chile, Peru and Mexico.
We aim to make life easier for people in their businesses with technology.
Elvira Montero
entrepreneurship success
Elvira was 13 years old, she was in school and due to overseas chinese in australia data situations she was in charge of going to the supermarket and doing the shopping for her house. In 1999, at the age of 23, she dreamed of shopping online, something very foreign at that time, since online shopping was not yet in use.
At university, the co-founder of Bsale did her Business Administration degree project at the Catholic University, on an online supermarket. At that time, the idea was still crazy, but it was a huge success, leading to the creation of Fastmarket, the name of the university project. This business idea was the first approach to what we know today as the Ecommerce of food and drinks known today as Cornershop, Rappi, etc.
With this motivation, she decided to study a little programming and mix it with one of her passions: marketing. She first started creating web pages with a friend who was a designer, and they noticed that if the websites were not functional, they were useless. In addition, they noticed that each sector had its specific requirements and that companies did not just want to show “pretty” information, but rather wanted more concrete actions to deliver solutions to their clients.
