A good reason not to work in the cloud

There was a time when local storage was the only way to go. I don’t mean that in the “JetBlue is the only way to fly” sense. I mean, there really was no other way. Those days are gone, and more and more companies are moving their data to the cloud.
Of course, the cloud has a number of advantages. Several come to mind, such as security , cost of ownership , and availability. Cloud backup eliminates the risks associated with upgrading your own technology, can reduce location risks - by having redundant, geographically dispersed copies - and can give you increased access.
There is almost no reason not to use cloud storage. You have complete control over access if you want. You can literally make a thousand copies of your data and distribute them around the world. You can scale your storage as you wish, and with every terabyte in Google's cloud, you're paying back a whopping $20 a month.
4. Internet of Things based on warehouse facilities.
The amount of data you can generate with connected devices overseas chinese in usa data is ridiculous. More and more things will be connected this year. The warehouse is the perfect environment for the Internet of Things and augmented reality , but we’ll cover that another time – with millions of moving parts, tight deadlines, and huge opportunities for efficiency.
Smart warehouses are the warehouses of the future. And by future, I mean next month.
IoT technology allows robots to make more accurate picks, reduces human-selection errors, and can speed up time at every step of the process. As Samsung notes , these benefits require careful planning, so don’t think you can just jump in with both feet and not break an ankle.
Even with the necessary planning and investment, improvements in the Internet of Things over the next three years will change the way we deliver things.
5. Mobile implementation
If you can't buy an entire IoT system with automated picking and delivery, you should still look for places where mobile technology can make an impact.
While changes in the Internet of Things can make your warehouse run smoother on their own, a good mobile app can support the people working in the warehouse. Tools like tablets and mobile phones are already a daily part of your employees’ lives, so simply integrate them into your workflow.
Mobile apps also allow you to make more informed decisions by collecting data on traffic, work performed, and other repetitive tasks that can be simplified. Many of the insights you get from a good mobile app can save you time and money by simply making small changes to your employees' routines.
Final Thoughts for 2017
There is a lot changing in logistics, and 2017 will be part of a slow transition from the old to the new. I am a firm believer in incremental change, so I don’t expect any major shifts in warehousing this year. I do expect to see small changes gradually increase profitability as the most efficient operations outpace their competitors.
