Immediate Supply of Information Regulations of the IGIC
Do you know the new regulations on the Immediate Supply of IGIC Information in the Canary Islands?
As of January 1, 2019, the new system for keeping records of the Canary Islands General Indirect Tax (IGIC) based on the Immediate Supply of Information (SII) will come into force . The “Canary Islands SII” will operate in a similar way to the SII that is already operational in the peninsular territory.

Who is it for?
It will be mandatory for companies with a turnover of more than 6 million euros and those covered by the IGIC Monthly Refund Scheme , in addition to all those who wish to voluntarily join this model.

Business owners and professionals will be able to immediately register business owner database their IGIC tax registration books from the Electronic Headquarters of the Canary Islands Tax Agency through a Web Service, for automatic submission; and a web form, for those whose turnover is lower.

Main benefits of the new SII regulations
The new system for keeping records electronically will facilitate the fight against tax fraud . The aim is to create a new tool to assist taxpayers, which will lead to improved data quality and the proper application of accounting practices, as well as cost savings and greater efficiency for the benefit of all economic agents.

On the other hand, it will allow the exemption of some obligations such as:

The obligation to file a declaration on transactions with third parties

The obligation to submit the informative declaration of the operations included in the IGIC books

The obligation to file the information declaration on domestic transactions exempt from IGIC

The obligation to submit the annual summary declaration of IGIC
