Putuo's First Amateur E-Sports Competition Concludes

The finals of the city's first amateur e-sports competition were held in Putuo District last weekend.

Four teams competed for the championship finals in the most popular computer and mobile MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) games “League of Legends” and “Honor of Kings” at Electronics Sports Park on Saturday and Sunday.

The Shanghai Amateur E-Sports Championship , which raised a total of 200,000 yuan (US$30,605), encourages players and teams from both home and abroad to participate. It is part of the 3rd Shanghai Civil Sports Meeting.

The 48-day event, held both online and offline, aims to meet belize telegram number database citizens' needs for participating in high-quality e-sports games and promote a more attractive environment for the e-sports sector, said the Putuo District Culture and Tourism Bureau, one of the organizers of the event.

Since the launch of the online app on November 3, more than 500 e-sports teams have applied to participate in the competition, which officially launched its offline knockout matches on November 21. All matches are broadcast online.

Sixty teams were later selected from the 500 to compete in the championship finals at Changfeng Joy City. The winning teams competed in the atrium of the shopping mall, where their competition was broadcast live on a big screen.
