Thousands of accounts were suspended and this is the reason

Meta has not given its users a break, following a global WhatsApp crash on October 25. Instagram played a terrifying Halloween joke on users, on October 31 thousands of accounts were suspended without warning.

The message “We have suspended your account on mexico phone number data October 31, 2022. You have 30 days to appeal this decision” flooded social media. Users panicked as they saw their follower counts dwindle , or worse, the threat of their accounts being deactivated.

Spokespeople for the platform posted a message on Twitter that read: "We are aware that some of you are having problems accessing your account. We are looking into it and we apologize for the inconvenience."


Influencers and Community Managers were the most vocal victims of the error. The advertising agency Let's Be Influenced contacted Daniel Chalmeta , who is the Strategic Partner Manager of Met a. The professional indicated that they were carrying out a cleanup of the inactive accounts and bots on the platform. This type of action is common on the platform since the creation of fake profiles or inactive accounts has increased in recent months.
