Starting today, pensions and social benefits for people with disabilities will increase. This is included in the 2025 state budget, which was approved by the Parliament of Georgia.

According to the 2025 state budget, 4.498 billion GEL will be spent on pension provision. The budget explanatory note notes that this figure has increased by 568.0 million GEL compared to the approved Australia business fax list plan for 2024, and by 78.0 million GEL compared to the previous budget presentation, which is due, among other things, to the recalculation of pensions based on economic parameters in accordance with the indexation rule for the increase in state pensions for the population of retirement age, as provided for in the Law of Georgia "On State Pensions".

According to the final budget document, from this year:

The pension of pensioners aged 70 and over will increase by 35 GEL to 450 GEL. The pension of pensioners of the same category in high-mountain settlements will be almost 540 GEL;
Pensions for people under 70 years of age, in accordance with the government program, are also increasing by 35 GEL to 350 GEL, and in mountainous settlements to 420 GEL.
In addition to pensions, an increase in social benefits for people with disabilities by 35 GEL is envisaged;
According to the original draft budget, the old-age pension for persons under 70 years of age should have been 335 GEL from 2025, which is 20 GEL more than the existing pension in 2024. Since 2019, the increase in the old-age pension in the country has been tied to a special formula; for persons under 70 years of age, it is tied only to the average inflation of the last 12 months, while for persons over 70 years of age, the annual pension review is tied to both the inflation of the last 12 months and the average economic growth of the last 4 quarters. In addition, the government undertakes to increase the pension for persons under 70 years of age by at least 20 GEL annually, and for those over 70 years of age, the pension must increase by at least 35 GEL annually.
