Transactions carried out abroad with Georgian bank cards have increased sharply.
According to the National Bank, last year was a record in this regard. In the first 11 months of 2024, transactions worth 8.849 billion GEL were carried out abroad with cards of Georgian banks, which is 25%, or 1.75 billion GEL, more than in the same period of 2023.
Data shows that since May 2024, Georgians have been spending more Uk business fax list than 800 million GEL abroad each month. Spending with Georgian cards was particularly high in November, exceeding 867.6 million GEL.
Payments with Georgian bank cards are mainly made through POS terminals and the Internet. These types of transactions account for 8.1 billion GEL, while only 734 million GEL were withdrawn from ATMs.
Overall, 11-month data shows that transactions performed abroad account for 11% of transactions performed with Georgian bank cards.
