Poland has taken over the presidency of the Council of the European Union since January 1. This means that Poland will lead the Council of the European Union for the next six months.

It is worth noting that Poland is an active supporter of Georgia's Euro-Atlantic aspirations. The government of this EU member state has repeatedly expressed concern about the ongoing processes in Georgia. A Uk business fax list few days ago, the Polish Foreign Minister, together with the heads of the German and French foreign ministries, issued a statement stating that they are seriously concerned about "the political crisis that has developed in Georgia following the October 26 parliamentary elections and the decision of the Georgian Dream to suspend the process of integration with the European Union."
