Introducing our own private DNS service, which allows you to customize the default server names on our platform for improved online privacy and white label hosting. This service takes full advantage of our centralized DNS , which we created to ensure faster domain name resolution, resulting in faster website loading speeds, improved reliability, and easy DNS management, and which also sets the foundation for our own cloud-based content delivery network to further improve your website performance.
Introducing our private DNS service
The DNS service translates domain names (the URLs of pages) into the numerical IP addresses of the servers that host the website content. So, instead of visitors having to type a combination of numbers into the browser, they can use letters and words. Thanks to our centralized DNS service, all domains registered with SiteGround now use the same default nameservers: ns1.siteground.net and ns2.siteground.net. Our private DNS service makes it possible to customize your own nameservers, based on your domain names or brand. It allows you to point all of your websites’ domains to these unique nameservers. For example:
ns1.mydomainname.com
ns2.mydomainname.com
What are the benefits of our new private DNS service?
Improved online privacy
Using custom domain nameservers helps improve online privacy. The private DNS service hides the default nameservers ns1.siteground.net and ns2.siteground.net. This obfuscation of information makes it harder for third parties to know where exactly your domain is located, preventing them from taking advantage of potential vulnerabilities that may arise on the servers.
100% White Label Hosting
Private DNS service is especially useful for white label hosting resellers . If you want to offer hosting to your clients, but you don’t want them to know that SiteGround provides the service or contact us directly, using Private DNS will be a great option for you. This will help you hide who the original provider is, making you the only provider and increasing your brand visibility.
How to activate and manage the private DNS service?
You can enable Private DNS for your domain by going to Customer Area > Marketplace > Hosting Services > Additional Services . This service is free if you have a GoGeek or Cloud hosting plan. If you have another type of plan and want to use the Private DNS service, you can do so by paying an annual fee. In order to enable Private DNS for your domain name, it must be registered with SiteGround .
SiteGround Private DNS as an additional service
To manage and view your DNS information, you can do so from kuwait whatsapp number data Customer Area > Services > Domains > Manage my domain (for the associated domain) > Extras.
