How does Google handle misinformation on Facebook?
Facebook is working to restrict posts containing sensational health claims in a bid to combat misinformation, with the search giant announcing on Tuesday that it is merging its fake news program with partnerships with major news publishers in a major effort called the "Google News Initiative."

The Digital New Deal Project is working with a nonpartisan service that rates the credibility of news and information websites to measure and compare the spread of misleading sites' articles on Facebook.

Google has already worked with news organizations on other digital initiatives over the past 15 years, the company said, including improving mobile internet and streamlining the video distribution model for news organizations using the Google News Lab, which will work with news organizations to help them navigate the digital landscape and take advantage of Google's expertise.
