Country is the 3rd largest franchise market in the world

Post by nurnobi40 »

According to the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF), Brazil is already the third largest franchise market in the world. With a turnover of R$32 billion, the sector has 850 franchising companies and 60,000 franchised units in a wide range of sectors. Among these numbers are many young people under 30 who saw this market as an opportunity to fulfill their dream of having their own business, but without running the risks involved in setting up an independent business from scratch.

Combining the willingness to work and the desire to innovate, characteristics of young people, with the knowledge of the business and the support offered by franchising networks, there are many success stories spread throughout the country. Here are successful examples from the brands Restaura Jeans, Água Doce, Casa do Construtor, Uatt?, OligoFlora, WSI and Prima Clean Lavanderia:

Lifestyle change
Opening a franchise can often mean a complete change in the franchisee's lifestyle. This was the case of Thiago Romão, master franchisee and owner of an OligoFlora franchise, a chain specializing in well-being and functional aesthetics. He was working in the import and export area at Banco Itaú when he learned about the brand at a franchise fair sponsored by the bank itself. Since he dreamed of working with quality of legal email leads for sale life and well-being, he saw OligoFlora as the ideal opportunity. A year ago, he became a master franchisee for the entire Campinas region and opened his own OligoFlora studio in Alphaville, a neighborhood in Barueri, in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo. Today, at 27 years old, he says that he is learning every day from his clients and employees, since the change has been so big. “I was used to working in a male environment and now my clientele is mostly female, including my employees. I am getting used to this new universe, but the experience has been very good”, he guarantees.

Owner with consumer profile
Another success story is that of brothers Marco Antonio Colognese, 25, and João Paulo Colognese, 26. Marco Antonio Colognese, who has a degree in industrial automation, was tired of his field of work and had always dreamed of opening his own business in his hometown, Caxias do Sul (RS). He asked his brother, who was already working in retail, to be his partner and was looking for a franchise that would interest him when he fell in love with Uatt? products, a brand that offers countless options for fun, different, colorful gifts in unusual shapes. Because they are the brand's consumer profile, they are very listened to by franchisors, who welcome their ideas and suggestions. So much so that one of them is already being implemented in the network: the gift voucher. "We have a great relationship with the franchisors, who are also young and very open to new and creative ideas. I believe we are the face of the Uatt? brand," says Marco Antonio Colognese.

With grandma's money
Fabiane Matte, a 28-year-old from Rio Grande do Sul, is another example. After working with her mother for a year at a Restaura Jeans store in Caxias do Sul (RS), she decided to invest in her own business by opening her first store of the brand in Farroupilha in 2004. With money borrowed from her grandmother and working up to 16 hours a day, she was able to pay off her debts and start making a profit, buying the second franchise of the chain in Bento Gonçalves in 2009. Today, Fabiane Matte manages the two stores – specializing in dyeing, sewing, customizing clothes, laundry, renovation and care for leather items – with her mother supervising production. She plans to expand the business with more collection points, a goal for the next five years. “For a business to be successful, you have to first believe, and then go after it. And being young helps, because you have more energy and are less afraid of taking risks,” she says.
