Understanding customer behavior is essential, especially when you are running a new website. The more you know about your visitors' behavior, the better you can meet their needs and get new visitors.
Most website administrators use a web analytics tool like Google Analytics to monitor their site traffic. Google Analytics is a popular tool because it is free and incredibly detailed, and can track important web metrics.
These metrics are called “sessions” . Let’s look in db telegram detail at what they are and how they work.
What are Google Analytics sessions?
Google defines a session as “The period of time a user is active on your site or app.” [...] If a user is inactive for 30 minutes or more, any future activity will be attributed to a new session. Users who leave your site and return within 30 minutes will be counted as part of the original session.”
A session includes every interaction with the site within a given period of time, including the number of pages visited or the time spent on each page.
Sessions begin when a user lands on a page and, by default, end when they leave the page, or after 30 minutes of inactivity . If a user stays on the site but does not interact with it for more than 30 minutes, they are considered inactive.
If the same user visits the page in the morning and then again in the evening, it counts as two sessions. If he visits the site ten times a week, it counts as ten different sessions.
In short, the same user can have multiple sessions in a single time frame, and each session can record multiple interactions. Interactions include page views and transactions.
