Why did Agromillora decide to make a corporate transaction? What benefits has it brought?
1. Could you briefly introduce us to the history of your company? Which family generation are you part of?
AGROMILLORA was founded in 1986 with the aim of being an innovative company in the nursery production of fruit trees using the in-vitro clonal multiplication technique for the local market. After 35 years, the company has become a world leader in its segment of activity and has an industrial presence in 11 countries on 5 continents, directly employs more than 1,500 people and has contributed numerous innovations in various crops through the introduction of fully mechanizable sustainable agronomic models. Two examples are high-density olive and almond trees.

2. What factors were most difficult to achieve growth in the company's early years?
In the early years, the challenges were essentially technological in nature until the in vitro multiplication process could be made to work effectively on an industrial scale. 3. What led you to decide to make a corporate transaction by bringing in an investment partner or to sell all the shares?
After 25 years of international business growth and development, with cutting-edge technology and already leading its market segment worldwide, the shareholders considered the possibility of incorporating a financial partner that could help capture all the potential that was perceived to still be possible from the accumulation of knowledge and innovation developed until then.

At the same time, a profound change in the agricultural business was beginning to take hold, accelerating the massive adoption of technology in this sector and giving rise to many new, more professional players.

The fact that AGROMILLORA 's capital was in the hands of several founding families also contributed to the decision to introduce a financial investor as a mechanism to reinforce the level of strategic ambition and consolidate a robust governance and management model independent of the vicissitudes of the different shareholders.

4. What factors helped you choose the best partner?
We could highlight four factors that we mainly took into account:


Understanding the role of management and governance of the company.

Investment time horizon.

Evaluation of the management team by the investor.

Exit mechanisms that would allow the continuity of industrial shareholders.
Additionally, the search was limited to funds that invested in minority investments, as this was the main starting requirement. With these premises, the fund finally chosen was NAZCA .

5. Describe the main advantages of incorporating a financial/corporate partner into your company
In our case, we can say that the objectives we pursued have been fully met, especially in two areas:


A better and more ambitious formulation of strategic plans has allowed the company to better capture its potential growth.

A more rigorous and independent process of professionalization in management and improvement of governance for shareholders, better preparing the company to manage the future.
In short, the company's management has been positively transformed, better orienting it towards creating long-term value for shareholders.
