Broken Backlinks: Restore Link Power

A backlink audit can also provide you with important insights into broken backlinks. Ahrefs shows you links that point to you but lead to a 404 page. This means that these types of links aren't passing on any link juice to you.

There are two options you can use to restore the link juice.

You contact the website operators or authors of the linking site and ask them to ivory coast phone number data place the link on a working URL on your domain that has the same or very similar content.
You set up a permanent redirect of the 404 page to a comparable page or your homepage.

The landing page for the conference now appears to be inaccessible. claneo.com can easily resolve this issue by removing the corresponding image link on the DMEXCO page and ensuring that the link to the homepage from the contact details remains valid in the future.

Looking for new links? Use this feature for your competitor's domain, contact the respective link providers, and offer comparable pages on your domain for these broken backlinks to which they can relink. It's also beneficial for the link providers if their links no longer lead to nowhere.

Top-level domains and anchor texts
You should always ensure that your backlink profile is as natural as possible and that you identify and eliminate potential threats from spam links, black hat attacks from competitors, or other harmful influences in a timely manner. Therefore, it's a good idea to take a closer look at the origin of these links. You can do this by sorting by top-level domains (TLDs) in the "referring domains" overview at the top of Ahrefs or by scrolling down on the overview page to specifically examine potentially dangerous links.

Be careful : TLDs like .xyz, .online, .pw, and similar domains are usually spam and therefore worthless or even harmful. Because this isn't always the case, it's worth taking a closer look. If you operate a website in Germany that has a noticeable number of links from, say, Russia or India, you should take a closer look. Since such links can be useful in some cases, it's a good idea to analyze them and take a closer look at the context in which the links were placed. This also applies to anchor texts, which you can access via the category of the same name on Ahrefs.
