What is social marketing if not the work “to improve the world, create more opportunities and have a positive impact on the society we are building”? This is the definition given by Kelsey Flitter, a communications strategist who uses marketing as a tool for social and environmental change, strengthening connections between the United States and Latin America.

Passionate about Latin culture, the 32-year-old American hungary telemarketing list has a degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Miami and has lived in Brazil and Ecuador. While working with teams from Mexico, Argentina and Colombia in public relations agencies, she noticed communication gaps among organizations in the region.

“Many of the NGOs that operate in Latin America need good communicators, good marketing and to improve their presence in the United States to gain more funds and generate greater economic interest,” he explains.

Between the Americas
Combining her interests in Latin America, communications and the environment, in 2021 she founded Rubi Group , a consultancy specializing in communications strategies, public relations and brand management for the Americas. The name Rubi comes from the ruby-throated hummingbird, which spends most of its time traveling throughout the Americas, stopping in different countries according to the season.

Alongside partner Daniella Nunes, Flitter has dedicated herself to purposeful marketing, using her communications skills to raise the profile of social impact, sustainability and social causes and companies. Case studies include everything from the communications for Kanua , the first floating film festival in the Amazon , to the #SíAlYasuní campaign , which fought to end oil exploration in the region.
