Optimal display on different devices

Post by tmonower958 »

The thing is simple: different formats = different image sizes. Instagram formats include story, reels, post, live, etc. but also advertisements. The image size refers to the dimensions of a media file - width x height. These are given in pixels, with the width usually being given first. For example, if a digital image is 1080 x 1080 pixels (px), the height and width are the same value. The image is therefore square and the aspect ratio is 1:1 (one to one).

Using the right image size on Instagram is more important than you might think. If you don't post your images with the right aspect ratio, Instagram will automatically crop them - and that's not always advantageous. It can happen that important elements are simply cut off.

There are other reasons to use the right image size or aspect ratio on Instagram:

aesthetics and professionalism
Instagram is a visual platform where aesthetically pleasing content (images/videos) often attracts more attention. If your images are distorted or blurry, it can reduce the quality of your australia whatsapp phone number profile, affect your credibility and thus hinder the success of your profile. It's not about delivering a glossy image or video, but about sticking to the basic rules. With the increasing use of user-generated content (UGC), the focus is increasingly on authenticity rather than perfect shots. A perfect video in the wrong format will therefore perform worse than a good video in the optimal format.

Instagram is used on a variety of devices, including smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers. Using the right image size will ensure that your images display optimally on all devices without being cropped or appearing stretched.

algorithm and engagement
Instagram's algorithm takes various factors into account to determine what content is shown to users. High-quality content tends to have a higher chance of being rated positively by users. This, in turn, pleases the algorithm and leads to high visibility and lots of interactions.

You should also remember not only to choose the right image size, but also to upload it in an appropriate resolution (number of pixels), because Instagram automatically compresses images and videos when uploading. However, if you upload them in the optimal resolution (at least 1080 x 1080 px), you don't have to worry about any loss of quality. Please refer to our Instagram image sizes in the introduction.
