Keep in mind that a plugin will not optimize your site for you but will make it easier for you to apply SEO best practices to your site.
One way to install a plugin on WordPress is to access the administration panel and from the left menu select the Plugins item and then click on "add new": Plugins> Add new
Once you are there, find the plugin you want to install and click "install now".

4. Set your preferred domain
Choosing or as your domain has no impact on SEO, but you should make sure that your site is only accessible at one of these addresses, as Google considers them to be different URLs.
Go to: Settings > General. Here you can choose the domain you prefer:

The other version of the domain will then redirect to the domain you chose. If you are launching a new website, feel free to choose either option, but if you are replacing an existing site, make sure you use the same version you have historically used.
On that note, and as a side note, make sure you have an active SSL certificate and that your website uses HTTPS. If you don’t have a certificate installed, talk to your hosting provider or developer, or check out the free solution Let’s Encrypt . You can learn how to set it up on WordPress here .
